"Why People Sin" (Luke 13)
Originally Delivered: September 15, 2008

Abstract -

This message is part of a series (see messages 0833a - 0833e) delivered by Pastor Bud Yoder during LCCC's 2008 Family Enrichment Event.  Pastor Bud is an evangelist preacher from Cogan Station, PA.  Because he does not develop and deliver his message from notes there will be no Outline detail below.  To follow is a synopsis of this message.

Pastor Bud's message tonight is focused on sin and evil, and continues with the theme of our need to communicate to all that are around us the importance of being saved. God puts a pastor in place to lead a local church. He gives that pastor a vision for that church. You will never build a church until its people become loyal to God. Tonight's message is about being kingdom people. Luke 17. Evil and sin is a choice, and God hates it. Four kinds of people in the world - first are the cop -outs, next the hold-outs, then the fall-outs, and finally the all-outs. The all-outs are the core group of any church. Pastor Bud asks the question "why is sin so strong among Christians"? Only through fear of the consequences do we have hope. When God says this is what it will take to cure you, do you think that price is too high? Reasons why people sin - people sin because sin feeds on selfishness, because they choose to sin, because they are weak, people sin because they have the wrong friends, people sin because sin is easy, because they are socially driven to sin, people sin because they become desperate, people sin because they love the world, and finally, people sin because they ignore the consequences.
