Abstract - How confident are you that you will go that extra to help someone you don't even know?  Pastor Don uses the story of the good Samaritan to reveal the importance of compassion, forgiving, understanding, loving, and doing God's will.  Do you know the difference between sympathy and empathy?  What potentially makes the good Samaritan different than you?  Are you ready to close that difference?

Introduction:

It is a straight forward question. What must I do to get to heaven?

We do not study the Bible.

            To just quote it.

            Or just for more knowledge.

            But, to apply the Bible teaching to our lives.

Bible study must:

            Make us more compassionate.

            More forgiving.

            More understanding.

            More Loving.

            More ready to do God’s will.

#I         There is a difference between sympathy and empathy.

a.       Sympathy

b.      Empathy.

c.       In church evangelism.

#II        I am sure the Priest and the Levite were busy people.   

a.       We know something’s about this Samaritan.

a.       He was not prejudice.

b.      He thought of others.

c.       He had a good reputation.

d.      He was prepared.

#III      There is a command here from Jesus.

a.       Go and do like wise.

Conclusion:

            God brought this injured man into their life.
