Abstract -

"The church is one only generation away" . . .  Did you realize that over 70% of today's Christian churches are dead locked in growth because of non-doctrinal issues?   In today's message Pastor Don speaks about how important it is to prepare the next generation to carry on the church, in effect, God's command.  To do this we must teach, train, trust, the treat them.  He illustrates biblical content on this subject with sever real world examples, culminating the message with seven examples of how to "Pass It On".

Introduction:

Freedom isn’t free.

  • Only one generation away from losing the church.

#I         Teach 4:1

a.       Teaching often begins with verbal instruction. It needs to be clear.

#II        Train

a.       Training is different from teaching. Teaching can be theory, while training is hands on setting beside them.

b.      Jesus said “come learn of me”

c.       Apostle John said “that which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked at and our hands have touched this we proclaimed.

#III      Trust Mark 6:8-13

a.       Good leaders do not micro-manage

b.      You encourage them Luke 10:17 & 18 “I saw Satan falling”

#IV      Treat Mark6:30-32

a.       Have you though of the Sabbath Day?

b.      Sabbath means a time of refreshing.

c.       Six cause of rapid ageing.

1.      Diet: Jesus ate fish, whole grains, fruits, grapes, fig, nuts.

2.      Unhappiness: Proverbs 15:13 A happy heart make the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.

3.      Lack of exercise: Play like a child.

4.      Lack of sleep. Proverbs 3:24 when you lie down your sleep will be sweet.

5.      Stress: Matthew 6:28-31 do not worry

d.      Have you heard of “Shangri-La”?

Conclusion:

            The need to pass it on.

a.       Children need to hear your testimonies.

b.      How God has blessed you.

c.       They need to hear and see where you turn in times of trouble.

d.      How you handle them, your attitude, your praise.

e.       They need to see the scriptures living in you.

f.        To hear wise counsel for their decision in this life.

g.       They need to see living in us the hope of eternity.

Teach them to rejoice and praise God.
