0913- "Strong To The Finish" (Nehemiah))  Archived

A church from humble beginnings, LCCC has grown due to its people stepping out in time of need.  Pastor Don uses the story of Nehemiah as a reference of someone who was willing to step outside of his comfort zone and take on God's will.  Sometimes stepping out causes discomfort, like when Nehemiah received his critics and even death threats.  Nehemiah is an example of strength for us as he kept his faith and spiritual strength even during the tough times.  Are you growing to be a Nehemiah?

0914- "After Easter" (Acts 2:42-47  Archived

Following on the heals of our 2009 Easter Presentation, the first one in our new sanctuary, Pastor Don continues the Easter story by picking up in chapter 2 of Acts, where the Disciples are starting the great commission by spreading the Good News. "Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles." Join Pastor Don as he speaks about the joy of being a "Christian with other Christians".

0915- "The Shocking Truth About Achieving Eternal Life" (Luke 13: 1-5)  Currently Available Online

If you believe that all you have to do is claim Jesus as your savior, and ask for forgiveness of your sins to have eternal life, you are most likely on a fast highway to eternal life in hell! Elder Steve Vlasak delivers this "to-the-point" message about your life needing to include repentance.  As Christians we have been taught to believe claiming Jesus as our personal savior, and asking forgiveness for our sins is all it takes to have eternal life.  Repentance is every bit as important.  Jesus spoke about it, and your Spiritual life is incomplete without it.   Don't let this happen to you.

0916- "In The Hands Of The Potter" (Genesis 2:7 )  Currently Available Online

Pastor Don uses the metaphor of the Great Potter, that being God, and how we are formed by His hands.  There is the preparation, the forming, and the building, and finally the testing, all necessary to make God's worker.  What makes a great potter?  He sees beyond the mere clay to what it can be, the possibilities.  As growing Christians we often lack the vision of what we can be.  But as we grow in our Spiritual walk we learn how to recognize our potential, if only we listen to God for guidance.  Are you ready to be the vessel God wants you to be?

0917- "Women Of God" (Ruth 1:16-18)  Currently Available Online

In today's Mother's Day message Pastor Don uses the story of Ruth to demonstrate qualities found in any great woman. Characteristics like caring, commitment, respected by her pears, reputation, and situational ethics. This message is basically a continuation of last week's message (In The Hands Of The Potter 0916), but perhaps directed more towards women. We all could learn from Ruth. Are you ready to grow?

0918- "When We Make Bad Choices" (I Samuel 13)  Currently Available Online

Today's message is a continuation of last week's message (Woman of God 0917), but where last week might have focused on ladies this week is a focus for everyone.  An old saying is "It's not what happens that defines a person but how they recover from it that does".  This speaks at the heart of "situational ethics".  In last week's message we saw how Ruth appeared to have a difficult life but still stayed true to her friend, and ultimately was awarded for her faith.  This week we see how when given almost the same situation two different kings respond  to God's direction.  One received the Lords guidance while the other rejected it, and suffered for that choice.  Our life will be filled with situational opportunities.  If we walk spiritually closer with God we can count on him to help us make the right choice.  Are you up to the challenge?

0919- "Monsters In The Night" (I Samuel 17:4-11)  Currently Available Online

This message is being delivered on Memorial Day weekend 2009 and speaks about the daily fight we must have in our spiritual life.  David and his mighty sling is the reference for today's message.  We all fight these monsters, and being able to look back on our successes, and sometimes our failures, and being able to take stock of our resources enables us to be successful.  Pastor Don reminds us that we need our own personal "Memorial Day" and that we need to share our battles and victories with others.  What battles can you share?

0920- "The Oldest Sin In The World" (Judges 13)  Currently Available Online

Pastor Don challenges us to know the oldest sin in the world is.  If you believe it is prostitution you are wrong.  This sin is responsible for more pain, suffering, loss, and death than any other sin.  It has caused the failure of more successful people than you can count.  Do you know what it is yet?  Better yet, how much of it do you have?

0921- "Spiritual Warfare" (Ephesians 6:10-18)  Currently Available Online

What an analogy - How many of us have exercise equipment in our home that has now turned into a cloths line?  As Pastor Don states, " It does not happen by osmosis!"  Like exercise, you have to work at growing your spiritual life.  Ephesians 6:10 provides four commands that will help us win this spiritual battle, Be strong in the Lord, "strong" in his power, Put on the full armor of God, and take a stand.  Be the champion that wins in the end!

0922- "The Joy Of Growing Up" (Philippians: 4:8-13)  Currently Available Online

We can not remain children all of our lives.  Growing up involves becoming mature, both in our personal and spiritual lives.  In today's message Pastor Don identifies maturity through the use of five passages.  These passages reveal becoming mature as that of thinking mature, thanking people, learning become content, choosing to be happy in life, and  learning to rely on God.
