0836- "It Is Good - Very Good" (Genesis 1:1-2:2)  Archived

Pastor Don is back from a more than exciting vacation, as you will hear about in the first few minutes of his message.  As he continues, he speaks about how we as humans fail to "slow down and smell the roses".  God took time to reflect and smile between moments of His creating, and he commands us to do the same.  So drop what you are doing, and take time to enjoy today's message on "It is good, it is very good".

0837- "All things are possible with God" (Genesis 6:9-22)  Archived

Using Noah as his example, Pastor Don points out how the Lord can call on anyone, even those who believe they are not up to the task.  Often we believe we are not worth God's attention to carry out His will.  But Noah listen the Lord, believing he was doing the Lord's will.  The Lord provides the plan and the materials, all we do is need to believe in Him.

0838- "Put On The Goulash" (James 1:1-20)  Archived

Let's put things into perspective - A bucket of water added to the sea has nowhere near the impact of that same bucket being added to an aired place.  When in a position of loosing everything are you able to see the bright side of things?  Difficult times can and should develop character and perseverance.  And, we should welcome these trials as opportunities to grow in our faith. To see this, we need to believe that God is in control and has our best interest at heart.  Pastor Don speaks about Richie White, a LCCC parishioner who was able to understand this and used his trials to get closer to God.  Do you have what it takes to do this?

0839- "Moral Integrity" (Roman 7:7-12)  Archived

It's the week before the 2008 Presidential Election and Pastor Don is offering who he is voting for, and suggest you vote the same!   Today's message is one of the all-time greats.  In a no-hold-back presentation Pastor Don talks about what is ailing America today.  So just what is it that is effecting the nation's economy?  And, what biblical guidance can we point to that will help us pick the right person to lead our country for the next four years?  Now you can understand why it is so important that Christians become the moral compass of our country.  Let's get our foundation back under us!

0840- "We Are Summoned To Praise God" (Psalms 100)  Archived

It's the week before the 2008 Presidential Election and Pastor Don is offering who he is voting for, and suggest you vote the same!   Today's message is one of the all-time greats.  In a no-hold-back presentation Pastor Don talks about what is ailing America today.  So just what is it that is effecting the nation's economy?  And, what biblical guidance can we point to that will help us pick the right person to lead our country for the next four years?  Now you can understand why it is so important that Christians become the moral compass of our country.  Let's get our foundation back under us!

0841- "Blood Brothers" (II Samuel 9:1-13)  Archived

How fortunate we are to be part of God's family!  Today's message is about that blood relationship we have with Jesus.  David had a special "blood relationship" with Jonathan, Saul's son.  Pastor Don uses the biblical story of David and Mephibosheth, son of Jonathan, to show David's dedication to his best friend Jonathan, who was now dead.  Here, a person who has nothing to offer but to be a burden in life is given everything due to David's commitment to Jonathan.  We too do not deserve anything from God but his love for us grants undue gifts of joy and love.

0842- "Real Christmas" (Luke 1:26-45)  Archived

With only three weeks to go before the new year 2009 begins, the Elders of Lake Country Christian Church announce that 2009 will be the year of personal Spiritual growth.  Pastor Don introduces this direction with a message on serving God, because a critical component to developing your Spiritual walk is your willingness to serve God.  Pastor Don points out that not age, nor personal position in life, nor perceived lack of skills, or physical condition prevents you from serving God.  God uses everyone willing in magnificent ways to do great works.  Are you up to growing in your Spiritual walk with God?  Then this message and 2009 attending LCCC is just what you need.

0843- "Beatitudes" (Isaiah 43:1-4)  Archived

This was the last Sunday message of 2008, and it looks like Pastor Don is lining things up for 2009, a year focused on personal spiritual growth at LCCC.  Today's message is based on the beatitudes, or as Pastor Don brakes it down, the "be attitudes". While it is a play on the word, Pastor Dan points out right attitudes to have as a Christian.  In this four point message  we discover what it is to have a Positive Attitude, a Mourning Attitude, a Meek Attitude, and finally, an Attitude of Hunger for Righteousness.  He ask "what do good people do when bad things happen?"  Also see message number 0845.

0844- "Spiritual Growth - Step Outside The Box" (Matthew 14:22-33)  Archived

This is the first Sunday of 2009, and today's message is being conducted by Elder Steve Vlasak. It's a new year, and at a time when everyone is making New Years Resolutions Steve is asking not to make a resolution, but a change in lifestyle. 2009 is the year of focus on personal spiritual growth at LCCC. He challenges everyone to step outside their comfort zone, to embrace discomfort and fear as you grow spiritually closer to God. "Pick something that the Lord is calling you to do for Him that is uncomfortable and accept that challenge as a step in your personal spiritual growth." Stating that leaders lead by example, Steve sings a solo performance for the first time in his life, something that is a tremendous fear to him, but he is rewarded for the experience.

0845- "Beatitudes - Part II" (Isaiah 43:1-4)  Archived

As part two of a message from two weeks ago (message 0843), Pastor Don continues with what it takes to have the right attitude to serve God.  Starting with defining what you get with the wrong attitude, and noting that, different than from here on earth, a perceived reality is not necessarily reality, he points out that God looks for a contrite heart.  Are you living a truthful life with the right attitude for God?
