 October/November 2009

I

 Matthew 6:21

I want to visit “Fall Family Enrichment 2009” one more time. I thank you all here at L.C.C.C for making it a huge success. What a joy to witness the church pulling together like you always do. There are to many to thank in this newsletter but a Big Thanks to all.

Bud Yoder deserves praise for his messages and the fact that he had a fractured hip. Yet he came and inspired us admirably.

Matthew 6:21 seems to be a guideline that our Lord Jesus set down. Where your treasure is there your heart will be also. The offering for HOPE mission this year was $10,155.30. I know I am a blessed man to be allowed the privilege to minister with this church.

Bud shared with me that the mission giving will be divided between, the on going project in the Dominica Republic and the building project at the Crow Creek Indian reservation in South Dakota. Part of the project in the DR is a dentist office.

I was thinking about when I was younger I had a lot of teeth problems. Laying in bed at night with a tooth ache waiting for the next day to see a dentist.

And thinking about what if I didn’t have a dentist to go to? Your mission dollars will provide such a place of healing and relief. In South Dakota at first the Indians of the reservation were stand offish the first trip we made. I later learned that so many people had come and wanted something from them, they were watching us to see our motives. After they realized that we came to help and serve they welcomed us with warm open hearts.

I and many are looking forward to these upcoming mission adventures. If you are interested in one of these mission trips, go on line to The Christian Church at Cogan Station and click the mission link. The application plus $100.00 needs to be sent in by the middle of November, 2009 for the Dominican Republic trip.

I am looking forward to the end of 2009 and the2010 year to be a part of the great things God has planned for this church.

See you Sunday

Don
